Prepare for Sanctuary of Ink: Endfield update storage by platform

By DayOneFix Editorial · October 14, 2026

Updating an existing Endfield installation for Sanctuary of Ink? Allow for both the pre-download and its extra extraction space: PC 9 + 15 GB, mobile 5 + 5 GB, and PS5 47 + 52 GB. These are the upcoming update’s estimates, not full installation sizes.

Endfield has already progressed through multiple versions. The preceding release, Dreamscape of Wind and Snow, began on 2 September for the Asia server. This guide covers preparation for the next update, Sanctuary of Ink. Steam is an additional distribution channel launching alongside it, not the game’s original launch; its separate installation requirement appears below.

Pre-downloading the upcoming Sanctuary of Ink update

PlatformPre-download resourcesExtra extraction space
PC / GRYPHLINKAbout 9 GB15 GB
Android / iOSAbout 5 GB5 GB
PS5About 47 GB52 GB

These estimates come from the official 13 October 2026 update notice, for the upcoming Sanctuary of Ink update. Pre-download is available now. Maintenance is scheduled for 06:00–12:00 Beijing time (UTC+8) on 15 October 2026, or 22:00 UTC on 14 October through 04:00 UTC on 15 October. This is the announced schedule, not confirmation that service has resumed; pre-download availability does not mean the new version is playable. These are update figures, not a fresh full-game download. The notice says extraction space is released afterward.

Adding the two columns gives planning totals of 24 GB on PC, 10 GB on mobile and 99 GB on PS5, in addition to the installed game. These are arithmetic from the estimates, not measured peak usage or final installed sizes. If resources are already downloaded, follow the installer’s remaining-space check; do not download them again just to match this table.

Installing through the new Steam channel

The official 7 October developer communication announces Steam for 15 October, alongside Sanctuary of Ink. The publisher’s Steam listing, checked on 14 October 2026, specifies 60 GB available space in both minimum and recommended specifications and still displayed not yet available. A displayed store date alone does not establish the actual unlock time; check the current store state before proceeding.

The listing does not identify a game version number for its storage requirement or give a separate extraction allowance. Do not add GRYPHLINK’s update allowance to Steam’s specification and call the result a confirmed Steam requirement.

Older search results may quote the 20 January launch notice: PC 50 GB plus 40 GB extraction, mobile 25 GB, PS5 60 GB. Those are historical original-client figures. They are not the October update requirements or a verified October fresh-install total for mobile and PS5.

We have not measured the current installed size, download payload or temporary peak usage on any platform.

Before starting the download

This is an editorial checklist for interpreting the installer, rather than a tested Endfield fix:

  1. Choose the destination first. Note the drive or device that will hold the game, then check its free space. Space on a different drive does not establish that the selected destination has enough room.
  2. Choose the matching task and check availability. Use the pre-download table to prepare an existing copy for the named update. Steam’s listed requirement is for planning a fresh installation once that option is available. If your installer asks for more, use its displayed requirement for that attempt.
  3. Separate transfer from extraction. A download counter describes data being transferred. It does not tell you the maximum free space needed while files are unpacked. Do not treat the historical 50 + 40 GB PC allowance as a 90 GB download.
  4. Record the exact message before changing anything. If an installation fails, save the error text, installer name, destination and free-space reading. Avoid deleting game folders or saves simply to match a figure in a guide.

Enough space, but installation still fails?

Confirm that the error actually mentions storage. A connection error, a startup freeze and an insufficient-space message are different symptoms. Record the stage at which it stops: download, extraction, first launch or entry into the game. This gives support a clearer report than “it will not install.”

If the reported requirement and your available space appear inconsistent, send that comparison to Gryphline support. Its official FAQ provides a website contact route and, when you can enter the game, Settings → Platform & Account → Contact Customer Support. This guide does not establish that reinstalling will fix a storage error.
